Founded during the Colorado Silver Boom in the late 19th century, Georgetown has preserved much of its historic character, making it a delightful destination for history buffs and nature lovers alike.

The drive from Denver to Georgetown is approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic and road conditions.

Georgetown Train:
A gorgeous scenic ride through the mountains aboard a historic steam locomotive. The train departs from Georgetown and arrives in Silver Plume, winding through rugged terrain and offering views you won’t forget. Once in Silver Plume, you’ll have time to step off, explore the small museum, and wander the surrounding area. Staff will let you know when it’s time to reboard for the return trip to Georgetown.
